It's often that initial setting up of a routine that's the most difficult. It's so easy to let yourself put something off, even by a couple hours. The problem of course is that when you allow yourself too much leeway it's always there as a temptation to just fall out of it and not accomplish as much or have your work hurried.

These are all great points though I like the last one, number 7 the most. If you have everything else set up and ready to go, a plan and then actually take action on that plan, you should really have a routine you follow in order to get the best bang for your productivity... Otherwise, you just might get overloaded and completely crumble with everything going on.

I myself don't actually have a routine of sorts and I know I need to get one. I feel this is important so much that even with no plan and no clue of what you're doing, those can come with the time given from just having a routine at all.

Consistency is key here even though growth and progression is where you want to be going also. Just have a set time and stick to it and things will work themselves out.

Great article Stuart.
